As with any project the time taken and any time which can be saved has a great influence on capital cost. Detailed planning looks towards foreseeable problems that can be corrected before project start-up. To establish the fundamental procedures and key events set against an agreed time scale, basically in the form of a bar chart.
 
 
Due to the trading patterns of ships and their need for a quick turn around in port, planning of deliveries need to be precise; lead in times need to be formulated accordingly given that both labour and equipment will need to be despatched to anywhere in the world.
 
 
Agreed method or repair philosophy is submitted containing details of work scope, safety and equipment required to execute said project. Information shown will be technical repair procedure, equipment such as staging, power and lighting to undertake project. Planned manhours will be tabulated against bar chart programme so that performance/progress can be ascertained.
